Course Description
Disordered eating and eating disorders are increasingly prevalent, yet many clinicians feel under-prepared to work with them. Their complexity, intensity, and the clinician’s own relationship with food and the body can lead them to avoid or attempt to manage symptoms, something that ultimately creates power struggles or short-lived change. IFS offers a transformative alternative—inviting curiosity, deepening compassion, and helping clients understand how their symptoms protect them from emotional pain.
Join Jeanne Catanzaro, PhD, clinical psychologist and senior leader within the IFS Institute, for an immersive, practice-focused workshop designed to strengthen clinicians’ confidence and competence in treating disordered eating and eating disorders using an IFS lens. Through a blend of didactic teaching, guided exploration, clinical videos, and live demonstrations, Jeanne will help participants develop increased clarity about how to navigate clients’ food and body concerns to heal underlying wounds.
This continuing education (CE) program is designed for licensed mental health and health professionals who already have foundational knowledge of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. Participants will be asked to confirm their prior IFS training or experience (e.g., books, workshops, online courses, or official IFSI training). Because of the potential of the material to be activating, this program is not appropriate for individuals with current eating disorders. All participants assume full responsibility for their physical, emotional, and mental well-being throughout the training.
